Herefordshire Farmstead

We have been working on the designs for a beautiful 17th century farmstead situated in rural Herefordshire on the Welsh border. The garden design honours the character and local vernacular of the landscape. We have extrapolated lines from the architecture and landscape to form the design language of the garden and to create seamless views from house, into the garden, and beyond.

As well as new ornamental garden spaces, we have created a masterplan for the whole site to make a cohesive and holistic design with sensitive planting interventions. In between the farm buildings which are still used to run the farm, we are experimenting with creating a garden in the broken concrete surface to make a low-cost, sustainable, biodiverse space.
