Bible Society: Psalm 27 Garden

Ollie is thrilled to announce the design of the Bible Society: Psalm 27 Garden at RHS Tatton Park 2023. Following on from Sarah Eberle's Psalm 23 Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show 2021, Ollie Pike was commissioned to design the Psalm 27 Garden at the prestigious RHS Young Designer of the Year Award.

Through its planting and construction, the Psalm 27 Garden is designed to evoke ideas of protection, reflection, guidance, and courage, evoked both by the psalm and churchyards. The yew gateway speaks powerfully of Christian hope, as yew is a symbol of immortality and a common churchyard feature. A stone structure recalls the idea of mortality, while the pillars are markers on the way through grief, standing as reassurance that there is a pathway forward. An overshadowing tree offers protection to those beneath it, while meadow planting promotes calmness and reflection.

The garden featured at RHS Tatton Park in July 2023 and was awarded a Silver Medal. For more information, visit Bible Society.
